Dietary fibers play a double role in our life:
- They are essential for health, particularly that of the digestive system as well as that of the immune system;
- They reduce appetite by slowing down the entire digestive process.
Using fiber is therefore a very simple and healthy way to lose weight effectively. However, not all fibers are equally effective and do not guarantee an optimal effect in this dual function of health and fat loss. It is in order to produce optimal benefits that Nutrimuscle Nutri-fibers have been developed.
High fiber intake
Fiber is a carbohydrate that has the particularity of being poorly assimilated by the human digestive system. Only 15% of the calories of Nutrimuscle Nutri-fibers are assimilated like conventional carbohydrates. Thus, 75% is fermented in the large intestine, which provides the health benefits described below (1). The rest is not assimilated at all.
Nutrimuscle Nutri-fibers thus provide half the calories of conventional carbohydrates, while providing 85% of fiber, acting as a natural appetite suppressant. This very late assimilation of Nutrimuscle Nutri-fibers allows a very gradual and above all very slow influx of energy.
This results in only a small increase in the level of sugar in the blood and therefore an increase in the secretion of very low insulin. The glycemic index of Nutrimuscle Nutri-fibers is only 25 (2). Nutrimuscle Nutri-fibers provide energy approximately 45 minutes after taking; this energy will continue to flow into the blood for more than 2 hours after taking it. At the same intake with glucose, Nutrimuscle Nutri-fibers induce an increase in blood sugar, which is a third lower and above all an increase in insulin secretion reduced by 75% (2).
Our digestive system is not able to properly hydrolyze (digest) the carbohydrates contained in Nutrimuscle Nutri-fibers. These carbohydrates will therefore arrive, almost intact, to the intestinal flora. The Nutrimuscle Nutri-fibers will preferably nourish the good bacteria that colonize our intestines (3).
A 14% increase in good bacteria (Lactobacilli) and a 5% decrease in bad bacteria (Clostridium Perfringens) are noted after 14 days of daily use of 10 g of Nutrimuscle Nutri-fibers (1). It is this beneficial effect on good bacteria, essential for health, that we call the prebiotic action of Nutrimuscle Nutri-fibers.
Do not confuse prebiotics (which nourish and allow the development of bacteria in the digestive system) with probiotics, which themselves provide bacteria. This is the case with yogurts, for example. The problem with probiotics is that because they contain living organisms, they must be refrigerated constantly. This is obviously a problem with probiotic supplements which are only rarely refrigerated throughout the distribution chain. They will therefore gradually lose their effectiveness by the time they arrive in your refrigerator.
There is no storage problem with Nutrimuscle Nutri-fibers, which do not contain any living organism that may die over time.
Intestinal balance
Unlike blood, where acid is harmful to health, an acidic environment is good for the gut. The acid promotes the proliferation of good bacteria, while preventing the bacteria that make you sick (1). The use of 20 g per day of Nutrimuscle Nutri-fibers allows the intestinal pH to be lowered from 6.7 to 6 in 2 weeks.
The acidity also allows a better absorption of minerals such as calcium and magnesium. For example, for the latter, research shows that Nutrimuscle Nutri-fibers increase its assimilation by 67% (4).
Appetite suppressant and fat loss
In order to lose fat, you should reduce your calorie intake. After eliminating bad fats, it is by moderating carbohydrates that we ensure fat loss. Indeed, more than other nutrients, carbohydrates stimulate the secretion of insulin, a hormone that makes you hungry and prevents lipolysis (mobilization of fats from adipose tissue). So the more insulin you secrete, the less fat you can burn for fuel. The solution is to restrict your carbohydrate intake. The downside is that because of the lack of sugar, you are tired all the time and have trouble training.
On a diet (and in the lean muscle gain phase), Nutrimuscle Nutri-fibers have the advantage of only secreting very little insulin due to their slowness of absorption. They are therefore the carbohydrate of choice when you want to really dry out, while avoiding the untimely fatigue of low-carbohydrate diets.
More than other carbohydrates, Nutrimuscle nutri-fibers also very strongly inhibit the rise in hormones that increase appetite (5). Ultimately, this appetite suppressant effect will result in fat loss. Thus, in men, compared to a placebo (maltodextrin), taking 17 g of Nutrimuscle Nutri-fibers, twice a day, induces a weight loss of 1.5 kg in 12 weeks. The decrease in appetite and therefore food intake manifests itself within 3 days of use (6).
