"I went down to 53kg for 1.83m"

It started during the lockdown, when I was moving around a bit less and eating a lot, so I gained weight. I was coming out of a complicated relationship and it was a period where I was kind of searching for myself mentally.

Very quickly, I was influenced by social media and all the crazy physiques you can see. And when I looked at myself in the mirror, I told myself that I was too fat and that I didn't look like anything.

So I started by losing weight. At first, I didn't necessarily follow the right people. I was more listening to influencers without clearly founded sources and I realize now that I had time to do my research properly.

In the photo, you can see that I went down to 53kg for 1.83m. Needless to say, life was sad. As we just said, it was during the lockdown so I wasn't doing much with my days: I woke up, I played Dofus and that's it.

And I wasn't really eating anymore because I had lost weight, so I was afraid to eat again and gain weight again.

"So at the end of Covid, I signed up for the gym"

I came across the Ecole du Tigre, which is sponsored by Nutrimuscle. They gave good advice, and recommended good people to follow on YouTube.

So I did some research and many explained that the best way to live long and gain weight is to do weight training because it allows you to build muscle mass and improve your metabolism.

It was also around this time that on social media, and even globally among my friends and family, there was a rise in this sport.

So at the end of Covid, I signed up for the gym.

At first, it was hard. I did calves for the first time in my life and it hurt for 6 days, it was burning.

After that, I started eating again. I was influenced again, but this time by the right people, stating that you had to eat, eat, and eat again when bulking. I went up to 86 kg in a very short time, about 8 months. The total opposite.

But when you see crazy bodies on social media and you want the same thing, but you see yourself in the mirror, it hurts a lot. So, I hired a coach, who is still my coach today because it's going super well.

We realized that I had weakened some internal functions and that I had some deficiencies, probably due to my weight loss during the lockdown. So I started supplementing.

"When you're comfortable in your own skin, it already removes a huge burden"

I didn't have a specific goal, apart from having a physique that I liked, rather athletic, while still being able to allow myself two or three deviations from time to time. And then from a mental health point of view too, when you're comfortable in your own skin, it already removes a huge burden and you feel better.

Through the guys I followed, like Coia or Gundill, I understood that from one individual to another, at X weight, we wouldn't have the same result. It's unique to everyone and depends on a lot of things. So I had a general idea in my head of the result, but no target weight.

"I ordered from Nutrimuscle"

To be honest, at first, I had started supplementing with other brands. I had done some research on the subject of weight training, notably by watching videos on YouTube, including those of Rudy Coia among others.

I was taking whey and omega 3, the two basic supplements.

But the whey was not necessarily adequate for my intestine, which, I realized later, is a bit fragile.

I had also ordered from Bulk to test and compare but I stopped their whey because I didn't really like the taste and I didn't really digest it.

As I said, I followed the Ecole du Tigre which is sponsored by Nutrimuscle and my coach also advised me supplements from French brands, so I ordered from Nutrimuscle. I digested their whey well so I stayed loyal.

For the moment, I consume Nutrimuscle supplements and I think their products are relatively healthy and complete, I mean, unlike some brands. That's rather what's pleasing.

And even for the rates. There are brands, frankly, when you look at their omega 3s they have a super high TOTOX, I wonder about the bioavailability or what's behind it.

Currently, I take magnesium, zinc, omega 3 and native whey. That's all I take and it suits me very well.

For whey, I've tried all the flavors but right now I'm taking chocolate, it's a safe bet.

"It saves me time and convenience"

I'm on a work-study program and I have a lot of meetings. So, it's super practical for me to take out my shaker where you can't see anything and my colleagues can think it's water. Of course, it's more complicated to take out chicken or snack in the middle of a meeting.

So it saves me time and convenience. Especially for whey, it avoids cooking chicken and it adapts everywhere. And it's hot now, we can innovate and make ice cream with it for example. It played a role at that level, in managing my day because it saves me a lot of time.

As for the results, I'm not going to lie, I think it's not only linked to supplements. It certainly plays a role but, for me, it's part of a whole. I ate better, which plays a big part, I also had better hydration and I party a little less. You have to keep your pleasures but prioritize your goals more.

Mathieu's anecdote

When I started the gym, there was a period when I used to see a guy training at the same time as me. And then he didn't come back for a really long time, maybe a year and a half or two years. He had probably gone to train elsewhere for some reasons.

The day he came back, he had become monstrous. And he told me "You've changed so much, it's crazy."

When you're in the process, you always tell yourself that it's going too slowly, so when someone tells you that, you realize that it shows from the outside and that you're not working in vain. And then I told myself "Oh yeah, it works!"
