Mitochondria convert our fat into energy

Mitochondria are organelles that convert our fat into energy. However, mitochondria are completely impermeable to lipids. For lipids to enter the mitochondria, they need a transporter: carnitine.

Carnitine allows fat molecules to cross the protective membranes of mitochondria. Conversely, without carnitine, it becomes almost impossible to burn fat: we are constantly tired and accumulate fat because we are unable to oxidize fat to convert it into energy.

Carnitine intake protocol

Taking 2 g of L-Carnipure® with 80 g of carbohydrates in the morning, then another 2 g of L-Carnipure® + 80 g of carbohydrates around 4 p.m. by athletes increases muscle carnitine concentration by 21% after 12 weeks of supplementation.

In the control group, who only took 80 g of carbohydrates twice a day, muscle carnitine levels did not progress. On the other hand, due to the increase in caloric intake from sugars, these athletes accumulated 1 kg of fat around the waist, plus 800 g of fat on the thighs. This 1.8 kg fat gain was completely prevented by L-Carnipure®, which demonstrates an increase in metabolism thanks to carnitine.

Thus, during physical exertion, L-Carnipure® allows 10% more fat and 6% more calories to be burned than a placebo.

How does L-Carnipure® modulate our genes to burn more fat?

Thanks to advances in genomics, it is now possible to measure the impact of any food supplement on our genes. By analyzing the reactions of our genes to this supplement and comparing them to those induced by a placebo, we can understand how the supplement works or why it doesn't.
